Color Magazine RVCA Tour

Also in the new Color Magazine issue 6.1 is a RVCA tour article which i had the privilege collaborating on with Ed Templeton, Cairo Foster and Keegan Sauder. Keegan wrote all the captions which are hilarious, Cairo wrote the story but unfortunately wasn't able to come on the east coast portion of the trip. Ed shot all the street photography which includes the opening spread,  just one of the many amazing photo's Ed shot along the way. Yours truly shot all the skateboarding photo's and to say the least i was so stoked on being a part of this tour. Good times with good people and thats what life's all about right. Thanks to everyone involved on this esp. Jimmy Arrighi the RVCA team manager and of course the entire RVCA team ,we had a blast. Thanks to everyone at Color for making it happen. 

Color Magazine Jamie Tancowny Interview

Check out Jamie's Interview in the new issue of Color Magazine . Jamie has had a busy year being added to zero and emerica shoes Direct ! he will have a another busy year ahead of him filming for both company's. The new emerica video is slated to drop in early to mid 2009 which gives Jamie time to film a ton of good stuff. This kids amazing on and off his skateboard i mean there's a reason you get added onto to these elite teams Direct its not just skill, its also attitude and personality. A combination of those three elements equals one cool dude that can rip on a skateboard, way to go Jamie your interview looks sick and we cant wait to see your footage in the new emerica vid when it drops.

etnies Goofy vs. Regular Snow Winners!

etnies GVR Snow 2008 took place on February 23d at Bear Mountain with over 7,000 people in attendance. The teams were Transworld Snowboarding’s Regular Footed riders vs. FUEL TV’s Goofy Footed riders. The Regular footers were victorious with 2747 points over Goofy’s 2345. Kurt Hoy, captain of the Regular Team, appointed Austin Smith, Joe Sexton, JP Walker, Markku Koski and Robbie Walker as his starting five going into the finals. Regular rider Jusso Laivisto took first place and won MVP. The day ended with a free Ghostface show. GVR snow will air on FUEL TV on Monday, April 7 at 8:00pm ET/PT.

Atlas @ Legendary / Légendaire Mt Baker Banked Slalom

Atlas shop owner David Soulière did really well placing 19th last Sunday at the Legendary Banked Slalom at Mt. Baker. He finished in front of riders like DCP and Wille Yli-Luoma and only 1 second from the top 10. With that kind of riding we'll have to make room on the Dragon team riders list!? David created 3 years ago the Banked Slalom for multiples sclerosis in Val St-Come and has always maked sure to place a banked slalom category in the Rumble, another competition he created a few years back. We're super happy for him that he finaly got the reward earned after all these years of looking at one of the most prestigious event in snowboard history.

Le propriétaire d'Atlas: David Soulière a fait tout une prestation Dimanche dernier en terminant 19eme au légendaire Banked Slalom du Mt. Baker. Terminant devant des riders comme DCP et Wille Yli-Luoma et se positionnant à seulement 1 seconde du top 10, nous devrons peut-être faire de la place sur le team Dragon!? David est le fondateur du Banked Slalom pour la sclérose en plaques de Val St-Come et il s'est toujours assuré de faire une catégorie banked slalom dans le Rumble, une compétion de snowboard qu'il créa il y a quelques années. C'est avec un énorme plaisir que nous soulignons cet évènement. Si quelqu'un méritait de participer à cette compétition, c'est bien David qui a voulu faire connaître cette discipline après s'être inspiré d'un des évènements les plus prestigieux du monde du snowboard.

Passion for the Possible.

Currently showing in Sydney at the Monster Children Gallery is "Passion for the Possible- Works by Sister Corita", curated by RVCA ANP advocate Aaron Rose. (Curator of the traveling art exhibition and book "Beautiful Losers".) You may remember the article on Corita Kent in Issue 6 of ANP Quarterly. In the 60's, Sister Corita was an influential artist, screen printer, teacher, philosopher, political activist- and considered the West-coast alternative of Warhol- all while being a Catholic Nun. Branded by the church as a "guerilla with a paint brush”, she was forced to leave the order in 1969. Her contemporaries included Charles and Ray Eames, John Cage, Saul Bass, and Alfred Hitchhock. The show runs until tomorrow. RVCA ANP has some great photos of the set up and preparation of the exhibit.

Sweeping The 9th Annual Transworld Riders Poll Awards!

Congratulations to etnies Girl and 32 rider Marie-France Roy (Canada) and Dragon direct rider Spencer O’Brien (Canada) on their wins at 9th Annual Transworld SNOWboarding Riders' Poll Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada. Roy took home the “Reader’s Choice Award", and “Video Part of the Year” award for her part in Rome’s “Any Means” and the evening’s top honor as “Women’s Rider of the Year,” bringing her total to a three victories last night. In addition to Roy’s three wins, Spencer was awarded the “Rookie of the Year” award.
